Tangerine Dream

Tangerine Dream

One of our favorite trending colors right now is tangerine. It’s bold, bright, and beautiful – and best of all, flatters many skin tones. It’s a quick way to add a healthy glow to your wardrobe, whether you’re sporting a gorgeous pleated skirt or just some fun accessories. From dip-dyed cotton shorts to a gorgeous printed dress, we love how brands and designers have incorporated this fab color into their line up. And best of all, it’s a color with staying power: pair that cotton sweater with skinny jeans and ankle booties come fall for a cool weather wardrobe win. How do you dream in tangerine?

Ammo for Camo

Ammo for Camo

The camo trend is another menswear-inspired look that has made its way into women’s wear – and we have to admit we’re fans. There are so many fun ways to wear this trend, from subtle (a camo-inspired watch, for example) to bold (go big or go home with a hip-length camo jacket).

We love that it walks the line between sexy and sporty, and with spring here, that’s just what we need. Pair these looks with a neutral heel for added oomph, or slip on some cute sneakers with a camo print for a sportier feel. There are so many fun ways to work this trend; we’re just thankful we’ve got all spring to play with it!

How To Care for Your Denim

Blue Jean Baby

Every girl needs a great pair (or more!) of jeans. Jeans made of cotton are “breathable” because the fiber can absorb and release moisture quickly. Cotton rich jeans are also easy to care for and can last for years. Here are a few simple do’s and don’ts of how to care for your favorite denim:

Do

  • Check the labels on the jeans you are planning to purchase to make sure they are indeed made from cotton rich material
  • Read the care instructions on the inside tag of the jeans
  • Turn them inside out before washing
  • Wash in cold water on ‘delicate’ cycle
  • Dry flat or hang dry upside down
  • If you have to dry them in the dryer, do it on the lowest heat setting

Don’t

  • Wash in hot water
  • Dry them in the dryer
  • Wash them after every wear

Maternity Fashion

Hot Mama!

Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the fun spring trends as well!  Many trends from the catwalks can be translated into maternity fashions, from stripes to colored denim. There are so many chic looks to choose from.

To ensure that your outfits will not only make you look good, but will also make you feel great, check the labels on the clothes you’re planning to purchase.  When you’re going by just the touch  it can be hard to differentiate between cotton and some synthetic materials.

All of our finds are made from cotton, which means they are comfortable and easy to care for, so you can enjoy your pregnancy in style!

Trend Report: Cotton Jumpers

Jump Around

Thanks to today’s chilly weather here in New York, we’re all the more excited to embrace one of spring’s hottest trends: jumpers, otherwise known as sweaters. Don’t mistake these for the bulky, itchy, shapeless sweaters of your youth. Designers like Vince are playing around with cotton knits to create new textures and silhouettes. Plus, we’re always fans of fun prints like the leopard one below!

These sweaters also play well with other layers, which is also on trend right now. So let those shirttails hang out!

Raleigh: High-Quality Denim Made in USA

Raleigh is a denim brand created by North Carolina natives Sarah and Victor Lytvinenko. The couple put together a team of “Non-Automated-Jeansmiths” who handcraft limited runs of jeans using denim exclusively from historic Cone White Oak plant in nearby Greensboro, NC.

Most recently, the couple opened up their first retail shop outside of their home city.  The gorgeous new Raleigh shop is located in the heart of the hip downtown New York City neighborhood Nolita at 211 Elizabeth Street.

Layer Me Up

Layer Me Up
One of our favorite trends coming out of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week is that layering is most definitely “in.” Gone are crisp, uniform-like pieces; in are varied looks with hints of pieces that pique interest and intrigue. So let that collar peek out and those shirttails hang down; go for an ombré-dyed shirt for added depth. And don’t forget the little details, like socks sticking out of classic riding boots and gorgeous bangles that tie it all together. What’s your favorite way to layer your look?
