Summer Styling Tips from Some of our Favorite Bloggers

The weather may be all over the place these days (is it hot, then cold, then raining where you are too?) but that’s not stopping us from getting our closets in order, so that all those staples of summer – t-shirts, maxi dresses, bathing suits, you name it – are front and center for impromptu trips to the beach or picnics in the park. Sometimes, though, we want to elevate our style a bit. For a little help, we turned to some of our favorite style bloggers for some of their tried-and-true styling tips for summer.

From J’s Everyday Fashion: the self-described “Rachael Ray of fashion,” J takes an everyday (and budget-friendly) approach to fashion and styling. Her tip for summer? Balance is key:

“I’m a huge fan of short-shorts, but I’m always careful to balance them out with a loose-fitting shirt with sleeves. If you prefer to show off the top-half, the same rules apply. Don’t pair a tube-top with tiny shorts – wear it with jeans or a loose skirt.”

The Budget Babe’s mission statement is “Fab without a Fortune” and her blog does just that. There’s even a category dedicated to “Looks for Less,” which we can’t help but love because it reminds us of Emmy’s Closet on TheFabricofOurLives.com. A classic example? Her budget-friendly and summer-friendly take on the die-for romper just like the one Solange Knowles is seen wearing. An adorable romper, a cotton candy-colored handbag, and strappy sandals are musts for us this summer.

Jill GG’s good life for less teaches women and moms how to look and feel good – without breaking the bank. Some of her tips for mamas on a budget? When in doubt add color, and look to dresses and maxi skirts for easy pieces with a big impact.
