While we’re not fans of the humidity that goes hand-in-hand with a long, hot summer, we can say we are most definitely fans of all the bright colors that go along with spring/summer trends. From tangerine to turquoise and now bright, luscious lemon, these colors are such a fun, modern way to add some pop to your warm weather wardrobe. And if you’re a little hesitant about sporting neon yellow, consider accessorizing with it, whether in a pair of espadrilles or a lightweight cotton scarf. Here comes the sun!
It’s summer in the city – what are your weekend plans? If you’re headed out for a night with friends, amp up your look with black lace, high heels, and some gorgeous accessories. Plus, as the temperatures rise you’ll still be stylishly cool in head-to-toe cotton.

Looking for an easy wardrobe update that will keep you cool this summer? Look no further than the little white dress – all dressed up in cotton. From sleeveless to fit-and-flare, crochet and lovely lace, there’s a dress to suit your style (and budget!). We love the idea of taking these to the beach with us – a slightly more polished look than your average cover up that you can take out to lunch, too. Which LWD is your favorite?
We love the look of dip-dye denim – it’s such an easy update to traditional jeans and chambray, especially in the warmer months. You can even do dip-dye with any color dye, not just traditional bleach, but the blue-and-white look is classic.
We’re taking cotton to the beach this summer – and we don’t mean in our towels and totes. Fashion-forward designers are increasingly incorporating cotton into their swimsuit lines, and we just love what they’ve come up with. From one pieces to frilly bikinis, there’s something for everyone. If you’re lounging poolside, consider JETS by Jessika Allen’s updated chrocheted monokini. Or Anna Kosturova’s pomegranate colored frilly bikini for a rich take on a classic swimsuit. And since cotton is durable, breathable, and easy care, these suits will last through Labor Day – and beyond.

Excuse us while we drool over Persifor’s (100% cotton!) accessories. The pink ikat print is perfect for summer, and each piece has very cool details that seal the deal. To wit: the four tiny holes in the beach tote that make getting rid of sand a total breeze. (Why didn’t we think of this?) And the gold handles on the weekend duffle take it over the top. Plus, the little canvas bag adds extra storage for both bags. Can we have the entire collection?

It was a hot, sticky weekend here in New York, which means we’ve put away our favorite blue jeans until the fall. But that doesn’t mean we can’t wear denim this summer – it just means we need to get a little creative about showing off our baby blues.
We love denim dresses because they’re a refreshing alternative to denim jeans, without sacrificing any of the comfort or style we associate with jeans. And while chambray shirt dresses have long been popular, there are plenty of other options for the cottonista. From embellished to collarless, tribal print to bleached out, there’s definitely a denim dress out there to suit your style.
We picked just a few we liked – but options abound. What’s your favorite look?
